Rock band Collective Soul, which is celebrating their 30th anniversary, recently released a new song, “Mother’s Love,” from their upcoming double album, Here to Eternity.
The band released the song along with an accompanying video, created by Lyric Vids Media.
“Mother’s Love” features longtime Paul McCartney guitarist Brian Ray on slide guitar, Sheryl Crow bandleader Peter Stroud and Mickey Thomas of Jefferson Starship fame.
“I happened to be walkin’ down the street and I had met Brian Ray a couple of times,” Collective Soul’s Ed Roland said. “I saw him and was like, ‘Brian, hey man. Why don’t you come over and break bread? We’re up at Elvis’ house.'”
“I’m gettin’ pretty sneaky in my old age,” he added.
The 20-track Here to Eternity, which is Collective Soul’s 12th studio release, is due out on May 17th via their label Fuzze-Flex Records, distributed physically by Amped Distribution and digitally by Virgin Music Group.
