The Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame has cancelled its 20th anniversary benefit concert gala in honor of Billy Joel.
The event was scheduled to be held at Tilles Center for the Performing Arts at LIU Post in Brookville, New York, on June 7.
Additionally, Legendary Music Agent Dennis Arfa, Chairman of Independent Artist Group, would have been inducted in the “Music Industry” category, and Tilles Center for the Performing Arts was set to be inducted in the “Venue” category.
LIMEHOF announced that the cancellation is due to Joel’s family commitments preventing him from attending.
“LIMEHOF sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience this cancellation may cause and thanks you for your understanding. Tickets will be refunded at the place of purchase,” the organization said.
An impressive group of musicians were in the lineup of performers, including Alexa Ray Joel, Debbie Gibson, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, DJ Johnny Juice, Felix Cavaliere, Jimmy Webb, Mike DelGuidice, and Philip Edward Fisher, for the epic concert.
