Pink Floyd's Nick Mason Reacts To Roger Waters Re-Recording 'The Dark Side Of The Moon'
Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason has reacted in a positive way to his former bandmate Roger Waters' decision to re-record The Dark Side Of The Moon without other band members.
Earlier this year, bassist-and-singer Waters revealed his plans to re-record the iconic 1973 LP in commemoration of its 50th anniversary this March.
Mason revealed that he knew about Roger's 50th-anniversary project and was even sent a copy to listen to.
Instead of being upset, Mason thinks Roger's re-imaginings are "brilliant" and is happy he is doing it.
Speaking at a playback of The Dark Side of the Moon in Dolby Atmos Immersive Audio at the Odeon Luxe in London, Mason said, "I heard the rumor that Roger was working on his own version of it. There was this suggestion that this was going to be a spoiler and Roger was going to go head-to-head with the original version and so on."
"He actually sent me a copy of what he was working on and I write to him and said, 'Annoyingly, it's absolutely brilliant!' It was and is," he added. "It's not anything that would be a spoiler for the original at all, it's an interesting add-on to the thing."

Kelly Clarkson Reveals New Album 'Chemistry' Coming 'Soon'
Kelly Clarkson has revealed that her new album, titled Chemistry, will come out soon.
"I've been working on this project for close to three years now. I wasn't sure I was going to release it, but I am. The album is called 'Chemistry,'" Clerkson said in a video posted on Instagram. "It's called Chemistry because I was trying to find a word - also it might be one of the songs on the album - but I was trying to find a word that really describes the whole thing."
"'Cause I didn't want everybody to think I was coming out with some just like, 'I'm angry. I'm sad.' Just one or two emotions. This album is definitely the arc of an entire relationship. A whole relationship shouldn't be just brought down to one thing, so there's the good, the bad, the ugly kinda thing going on in it," added the 40-year-old pop superstar and television personality. "Chemistry can be a really amazing, sexy, cool, fun thing, but it can also be very bad for you. So that's why I named it Chemistry. I thought it was kinda the perfect title to describe the entire album."
Clarkson did not specify when the album will be released.
Chemistry is Clerkson's first album in six years.
Her previous album, the Grammy-nominated Meaning of Life, was released in 2017.

Fall Out Boy Share Video For New Single 'Hold Me Like A Grudge'
Fall Out Boy recently released a video for "Hold Me Like a Grudge," a song from their latest album, So Much (For) Stardust.
The music video is a sequel to the iconic "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race" clip from the band's superhit record Infinity On High, which arrived in 2007.
"When we did 'Dance, Dance', that was kind of the first video we wrote, right? And so, when we did 'Arms Race,' we were like, 'Well, what if we go back and we approach it super-cynically, and 'Dance, Dance' wasn't really what it was?' And then 'Arms Race' ends and it's 2003 or whatever, and we're at the show," bassist Pete Wentz told Kerrang! about the concept for the video.
"And this video starts at Arms Race, and I fall and I break my leg, and then they fix my leg but it's bionic, and I become a superhero for 20 years, and we don't do the band, and it's a different timeline," he continued. "We get a call from a guy who's in the future but the past, and the space-time continuum is broken, and so I go and find Patrick, who's a local wrestler (laughs) who's in this amazing muscle suit - which was a role he designed!"
"It's an ambitious video," Wentz added. "I think if it comes out half as well as we want it to then it'll be kinda funny. It was fun to make."

The Who's Pete Townshend Shares First Solo Single In 29 Years 'Can't Outrun The Truth'
The Who's Pete Townshend recently released "Can't Outrun The Truth," his first solo single in 29 years.
The track was composed and produced by Rachel Fuller under her nom de plume Charlie Pepper, and all proceeds from vinyl sales plus at least 10 pence from every download will go to the Teenage Cancer Trust.
The song was inspired by the difficulties everyone had encountered emotionally due to the lack of human interaction caused by the pandemic. It also occurred to Rachel that young people undergoing cancer treatment may identify with these feelings of isolation.
Speaking about the genesis of the song, Fuller said, "We'd just moved house and Pete was as happy as Larry up in his studio, working every day, and I put my back out, I was just climbing the walls, I couldn't do any creative work and obviously, we couldn't go anywhere. And I really started to think about how unbelievably difficult this period of time was going to be for so many people."
"I wrote lyrics and then I sat at the piano and wrote the music, and then I thought, Oh, I really would like to record it, because it's really not a bad song at all - and my singing days are long over. So, I asked Pete to record the demo," she continued.
Townshend added, "I've helped Rachel make the demos for several of her theatrical projects. She's a really fast worker, it's not that you say to me, let's go into the studio for two weeks and work on this project. We do it, two hours later, or an hour later, it's done - so it's easy to work with her".
"Can't Outrun The Truth" was recorded in Townshend's home studio in September 2021, with Pete playing lap steel guitar and violin and singing.

Neil Young Declares Concert Touring 'Broken' Due To Ticketmaster Fees
Neil Young has openly criticized ticketing giant Ticketmaster, blaming them for killing concert touring.
Early this month, The Cure announced a North American tour. Even after the band opted out of Ticketmaster's "dynamic" pricing structure, fans were charged exorbitant service fees.
Young responded to the developments in a recent post on his website, titled "Concert Touring Is Broken."
"The old days are gone," Young wrote, reposting an article about the Cure frontman Robert Smith's battle for fair prices. "I get letters blaming me for $3,000.00 tickets for a benefit I am doing . That money does not go to me or the benefit. Artists have to worry about ripped off fans blaming them for Ticketmaster add-ons and scalpers."
Young continued, "CONCERT TOURS are no longer fun. CONCERT TOURS not what they were."
"I am as sickened as you all are by today's Ticketmaster 'fees' debacle," Smith tweeted about the subject on March 15. "To be very clear: The artist has no way to limit them. I have been asking how they are justified. If I get anything coherent by way of an answer I will let you all know."
Ticketmaster eventually agreed to refund some of the cost.
